Abstract

The greening of subsurface use worldwide is of increased interest from science and practice, in particular in the context of the transition of the economy to a new "green" path.  The implementation of the ESG principles and sustainable development in general is not a new initiative, it arose at the initiative of the United Nations more than fifteen years ago. For the first time, the ESG principles were formulated by UN Secretary General Kofi Annan. Environmental safety of subsurface use, the problem of real compensation for environmental damage, social and corporate responsibility are becoming key guidelines for sustainable development.    The article discusses the concept of an ESG component using the example of hydrocarbon raw materials to achieve sustainable development goals.
