Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the history of the existence and development of personal subsidiary plots of the rural population. The stages of the formation of personal subsidiary plots and the functions of personal plots are considered. Personal subsidiary farming plays an important role in the well-being of rural families. Income from personal farming is the main source of income in the budget of rural families not employed in collective enterprises. In general, personal subsidiary farming contributes to the improvement of the material well-being of workers and the satisfaction of their material needs. And in this sense, the role of personal subsidiary plots is already beyond the scope of one family and acquires social significance.
