Abstract

Сorrelation of morphological features of Byzantine oat A. byzantina C. Koch. Revealed a positive correlation between productive tillering of the grain mass / plant(r=0.96). Reliable indirect selection criteria for high grain yield among accessions of this species established for productive tillering (r=0,70), selection for grain weight per panicle (r=0,51), weight of 1000 grains (r=0,56).


Analysis of the early maturing group of varieties with a vegetation period of less than 65 days in this species, for the years 1999-2007 revealed no significant medium to strong correlations between maturity and grain yield. 


The lack of a negative and stable correlation between grain yield and length of vegetation period, the presence of a positive correlation in A. byzantina C. Koch demonstrates the difficulties of developing early maturing forms of oat with high grain yield under conditions of Central Yakutia.
