Abstract
The environmental effects of the oil industry have serious consequences and require practical measures. The implementation of sustainable development in companies is of particular importance for solving many global problems. This article discusses the basics of forming the concept of sustainable development of oil and gas companies, the basic principles on which the introduction of such a concept is based. In addition, examples of sustainable development strategies of Russian oil and gas companies Rosneft and Lukoil are considered.
